I'm a 5'2 164 lbs Latina . I want to lose weight. I know my recommended weight for my height would be of 115 lbs. I know the proper way to lose weight is to eat healthy, and exercise. For me..eating healthy is specially hard since Im latina and I love to eat. Im a sucker for sweets. What do you recommend as a sweet, healthy snack i can have to suppress my sweet urges. Anything?

Well, I absolutely love fruit, and pineapples are "fun" to eat. Or you can try dried cranberries or mangoes.

But even without dieting, here are some small lifestyle changes you can make:
~Brush earlier. For me at least, having brushed teeth discourages me from eating, so you can try brushing an hour earlier to avoid night snacking.

~Use smaller plates. Less space to fill up with fats.

~Buy only a small amount of candies. Usually, I ration myself to the extreme if I see that I'm running low on say, Snickers, and I eat half a bar in the morning and half at night.

~Overrated, but extremely helpful-savor it. Count how many times you chew it. When it takes you a long time to eat something, it's max pleasure with minimum calories.

Hey, I love eating too, but when it's in your mouth, savor it. And maybe you can try walking to restaurants close by, etc...

Believe me, you don't have to be latina to love to eat. I know what you mean about sweets. I'm limited with those know due to low blood sugar, however, more and more, you see sugar free snacks. It may take some looking in your store.

I think if you eat fruits which are sweet (I know, not the kind of sweets you want), but they are good. Start walking. Start slow. Build up your walking distance a little bit each week. You'll really start losing weight. Also lifting free weights is a good way to burn fat. Try going to the library. They have many fitness dvd's and videos and books.
Go for it. and Good luck.

fruit is healthy and sweet but not necessarily what ur looking for, energy bars and such now come in a variety of flavors and even can include chocolate. and as far as other sweets homemade is generally better than store bought because store bought has additives and stuff that isnt good for you. good luck!

Frozen fruit. You can get frozen berries, mango, all kinds of things. It's sweet and tasty, and you'll eat it more slowly because it is so cold.
