You pretty much got the full range of answers of what it might be....food or environmental allergy.

Do you use any of those carpet fresh type of products? The stuff you throw in your carpet and you vacuum up to remove odors. My mom had a habit of using that stuff, her dog had terrible skin issues, nasty scabby rash down his spine, on his butt and belly, hair loss, the dog was a total mess. Her vet makes house calls. The came came shortly after my mom used the product...knew right away what was causing the dog's problems. But this was after months of trying to figure out what was causing it and treating him with oral and topical meds. She stopped using the product and in a few weeks the rash cleared up and never returned.

You all ready rules out ticks and fleas. It could anything grooming products, wheat or soy in his feed and treats you maybe giving him. Start looking for known allergens in his life and removing them.

You could always give your breeder a call. They maybe aware of allergy issues in the bloodline.

Above all talk to you vet.

I had dog that had allergies and would lose his hair do to his scratching. I took him to the vet and had tests ran so the vet could give the right meds. After he started getting treated the problem went away. The dog lived a long healthy life with the right meds.

Did you give it a bath recently? My Golden Retriever has very sensitive skin, she once got sprayed by a skunk and we gave her bath with a skunk shampoo, a week or so later she had little scabs all over her body, like chicken pox. It eventually went away on it's own. Vet told us it was from the shampoo.

Yeah, I would take him to the vet, it could be mange or even allergies. They will give you.....sell you, medicine that the dog needs. When you bathe your dog, put some baking soda in the water, helps with skin irritations.
But, yeah, take him to the vet. If it is mange, you and any other pets could get it.

Food Allergy/Intolerance- SUPER common in this breed.
It could also be yeast. Put yr dog on a great food, give digestive enzymes and you will mostly have a brand new dog!

Well, probably it's an allergy. My pit bull had this kind of rash before. You need to check what your dog eats and what it does. Observe what it reacts to. Either then that take it to the veterinarian.

Sounds like mange, take it to the vet and get it checked out. Type mange into images.yahoo.com and compare. What ever it is take it to the vet, save your pet the time, and pain of trying to solve it your self. I think your pet is worth a 30 doller office vist.
