Pomeranian,Maltese and Chihuahua, they are all Tiny .POM is the most beautiful and can live to be 25 yrs old. They are the oldest living dog in the world. They need very little maintenance only brushing 2-3 X's per week. They have no Oder. They are unusually smart, loving and loyal. They are great family pets and will love anyone that loves them.Maltese are great pets and they are great for people with allergies. They do not shed at all ,only what you comb out. They are pretty and loyal and also love laps. They are usually solid White in color with black points.Chihuahuas are tiny little lap pups but they shed really alot and they do have an Oder. They can be a bit yeppy if not well trained and they can be aggressive at intervals unless properly taught. Some are very sweet and I love them all .The pups named above are the 3 most note able Lap pups and are all 3 great babies all should fit in your wife's purse if she enjoys that kinda thing.Be very careful and do not be hasty when purchasing a pup.Tiny pups should be well weaned from mom.Breeder should have wormed every week since birth and pup should have 1or 2 immunizations before moving into a new home.Beware of scamers who claim "AKC" is the only puppy to buy!!!Get to know the Breeder and try to see the parents of the puppies that will give you a sense of what your new puppy will look and act like.Good luck!!!Happy Holidays!!!!!

A Yorkie. They can be anywhere from 2-8 lbs usually. Or a Maltese, 3-9. A Chihuahua 2-8. A Papillon 3-10. A Dachshund 5-12. Any of those MIGHT get bigger. It depends on the parents.
Yorkies are a little bit more hyper than Maltese. They both are sort of yappy though. They both get long coats, they don't shed, but they'll need to be groomed.
Chihuahuas can be snippy and possesive, the shed a little bit, but they're tiny so it's not a lot. Long haired ones shed more.
Papillons are also possessive, they seem to think they're alot bigger than what they are. They get long fur on their ears that looks gorgeous.(Papillon mean butterfly in French.) The rest of their fur grows midway. They do shed.
Dachshunds are cuties. So sweet and loveable. Very devoted to you. They do shed. Longhaired ones do need to be brushed a lot.
Hope this helps.

A chihuahua makes a great pet. As for teacups of any breed-that is a breeder's fancy word for runt or stunted dog. A standard size chihuahua is about 4 to 5 pounds and that is plenty small enough.
Beware though, chihuahuas are like potatoe chips, it's hard to stop at just one.

Please don't listen to these boneheads that are suggesting a "teacup" anything. There is no such thing as a teacup variety in any breed. It's just a cutesy marketing term used by unscrupulous breeders whose dogs are too small to fit the breed standard. There is no such thing as a "miniature dacschund".

Chihuahuas!!!!!! I love chi's. And they are not real barkers as rumors say. Okay a couple are but not most of them. I have a chi and she is so cute and tiny. They never get more then 6-8 inches high and they are so lovable. Definalty the best breed to get. And make nice show dogs.

sometimes the best dogs are the ones at rescues. there are purebreds but mostly the mixed breeds are the ones I see abandoned. Stop by an adoption event one day and take a look. You never know which dog may chose you.

Maltese and Yorkshire Terriers stay pretty small and they are pretty popular with women because they are "cute and fluffy" The Yorkie is a little cuter than the Maltese in my opinion though.
