burned my finger a few weeks ago while cooking...it blistered pretty badly, so I went online to get info...

Never put ice on it...it draws the heat to the surface of the skin....don't put any A&d or desitin on it at first...they trap the heat in the skin, causing more pain....

If it is still hurting/burning/stinging, you should buy some burn spray (cvs, brooks...about $5). Put the spray on and cover it with clean gauze...no bandaids...they don't breathe, and they can stick to the burn... Do this for a couple of days.... depending on how bad the burn is.

When it doesn't hurt anymore, put A&D or desitin on it to heal the top layer of skin.

If you just burned it (ie withing half an hour) keep it in cool water until it stops stinging. Applying ice actually causes shock to your skin similar to frostbite, and that area cannot handle any extra trauma. Do NOT put anything on it yet. When it has been cooled in water to stop burning for over half an hour, then apply some kind of pain killing ointment or spray. Aloe vera plant works well too if you have it. Unfortunate for you, your burn is on your finger where there are an excessive amount of nerve endings compared to other areas. (You could also take tylenol or advil to block the perception of the pain).

I hope you feel better soon!

Try vinegar (white or apple cider), alcohol or baking soda. You will have to add a little bit of water to the baking soda to make a paste. All three will relieve the pain of the burn. Put the liquid on a cottonball & you won't have a totally huge mess. Hope this helps.

I know this is going to sound a little weird, but my Grandma used to do it to me and my sibling when we were younger. She would have us hold a piece of bacon. For some reason the grease in the cold bacon would relieve the pain of the burn. After a while, we would was our hands and put some sort of burn ointment.

Aloe. Almost anything with aloe in it works. I am prone to burns therefore i have many aloe plants at home, if you have one (i doubt) or have a friend who has one just cut a piece off and put the slimey goup found inside on the burn, it works wonders. Many lotions have aloe in them, you will probally have something with it at home. As a last resort hand lotion with aloe but try to aviod it if possible.

There's an AMAZING burn ointment called "Americaine" that a paramedic friend once gave me. I don't know where you buy it, but you could try an internet search and purchase it for possible future use. Sorry I couldn't be of more help.

Queen Helene's cocoa butter lotion is the best I've ever used and I tan a lot. It helps your skin. it's cheap too. Any drug store should have it, but I'm not sure I've ever got it at Wal-mart - they carry so much other stuff.
