my gum in the very back on the right bottom side is inflamed and puffy, could this be because my wisdom teeth are breaking through? the front is about halfway out

It could be, but it is hard to determine that without a current x-ray of the area. When wisdom teeth break through the gums, it can be very sore.

You may want to consider rinsing with some warm salt water to help with the inflammation.

Yes most definately, watch out for infection, its usually when they are pushing through they are more prone to infection. It can take years for wisdom teeth to come through, mine have been pushing for about 6 years now and i've had 2 infections, which is the limit for when its time for them to be taken out but they don't really like to these days as its quite a big operation apparently.

Your gums may be irritated because food might be stuck back there, or you may have the beginnings of an abscess (infection). When you brush and floss, make sure you are getting as far back as you can to reach those wisdom teeth/gums. Contact your dentist for further advise.

either you wisdom teeth coming through or you have an abcess which will need dental assistance. If it bothers you make an appointment cause trust me if it is infected the pain is NOT good!
