That amp is:

200 watts RMS X 2 @ 4 ohm
250 watts RMS X 2 @ 2 ohms
500 watts RMS X 1 @ 4 ohms
(Owners manual right in front of me, LOL)

The subs are severely underpowered for that amp if they're 1100 watts RMS.

Oh, and a wiring kit is only about $25, if you pay >$30 you're getting ripped off.

A pair of 4 AWG jumper cables is cheaper than that!

Use this wiring chart for power wire size:

_______________

"See, there is a thing called real watts and fake watts. I see that the amp has 1200 "fake" watts, but it is most likely only pushing about 200 "real" watts."

AHaa ha ha ha...I think you mean MAX(peak) watts and RMS watts you silly person.

Well I just want to inform you that the correct term is MAX(peak) watts and RMS watts.

MAX (or peak) is what an amplifier has the potential to reach for a very short time.

RMS is the continuous watts an amplifier produces.

It is always best to use the value and term of watts RMS when speaking of power as this is the most recognized method (and most accurate).

This has been a public service announcement.

Oh, and there is nothing wrong with Sony. That amp is CEA 2006 Compliant which means it produces the watt stated. My amp has been thumbing just fine for 3 years now...don't know what your problem was.

NOOOOOOO. Never buy sony car audio equiptment. It is JUNK.
It says that it is a high watt amp and sub but it is really not. See, there are max and RMS watts. I see that the amp has 1200 Max watts, but it is most likely only pushing about 200 RMS watts. I personally have dual memphis 12" in a custom box for my camaro and i would reccemend them to anyone. It is being powered by a single kenwood excelon 1000w amp. It is so friggin loud and i love it. Please stick to the good brands like kenwood, kicker, memhis, JL, pioneer...ect

and yes, worry about blowing them out. It will most likely happen sooner than later.

there are a lot better subs out there then sony (kicker, alpine, infinity, jl, etc.) but for the price they look good, ported box too. Just remember your gonna need a wiring kit (I read it quick didnt see if its included) and those run about $75 to $100. But still for that price there good
