My kids are 26 months apart to. I had my oldest in a 'big boy bed' before the baby was born. He was about 20 months when we made the switch.
I personally think that toddler beds are kind of a waste of money. They can't stay in them for very long, I figured I would go right to a big bed.
My son was really excited about the big bed, but remember to use a safety rail.

I do not think that it will be too soon, you do have a few months so I wouldn't rush it if you don't think your daughter is ready but it would be nice not to have to spend money on a second crib. Why dont you wait another month or two and then give it a try. My daughter's crib turned into a toddler bed and I put her in it just before her second birthday and she was fine, my best friend has had her little one in a toddler bed since she was 17 months because she was a climber and she was afraid she would hurt herself. Each child is different, I hope the transition goes as smooth as it did for us.
Good Luck!

i think of it relies upon on the infants. i'm no longer able to declare i might positioned them in a newborn mattress, the burden decrease on maximum purely is going up severe sufficient for a 4 3 hundred and sixty 5 days old so because it relatively is a waste of money. Is there room for 2 twin length beds? i'm able to inform you this. At age 2 a million/2 my oldest replaced into drowsing in a loft type mattress (like a bunk mattress without the backside bunk, it has a citadel type area below). he continues to be in it at 4 a million/2 and has in no way as quickly as fallen out or had any problems in any respect. It does have a tent over the ideal of it so as that would help preclude him from falling. yet, he does no longer flow in any respect whilst he sleeps; he's an somewhat deep sleeper. I relatively have an 18 month old and there is not any way he would be entering into that mattress till on the brink of age 4 (a minimum of), he strikes around all evening long. i think of it relatively is a great element whilst thinking a bunk mattress for a youthful newborn.

Well me and my fiancee switched our daughter over at about 17 months! We did have to get a support for the side of it. We used it until about she was 19 months then she stopped rolling out of the bed. Our daughter just turned 2 in october and she loves her bed. If she sleeps anywhere else she doesn't like it! Well hope this helps. Good luck to ya!

I don't have kids but I don't see anything wrong with changing out the crib for the "big kid" bed. You might want to get the little side things for her new bed and make the change as a fun thing, so she feels like she is getting a new thing not being pushed out for baby.

I have a toddler bed set up for my son who is 2 and he lays in it & reads books & plays games in it. I am the one delaying having him in there because I love my sleep and don't want to have to keep putting him back. I know he would be fine to sleep in it.
You can set up a toddler bed and see if she is interested in it. If you start now you will definitely have her in there by the time the baby is born. Make sure you make it attractive with her favourite character or colours.

Is your lil one able to climb onto furniture? If so, then shes ready for a toddler bed. I put my son into a toddler bed when he was about that age cause he was always climbing out of his crib and playpen. As long as she is able to climb it'll be fine.

I would just get a regular bed and get your daughter used to it now.If you leave it too close to the birth, she may feel that the baby has taken her crib which can cause jealousy.

Go ahead and get the Toddler bed for your daughter.
If your worried about her falling out, you can get a bed rail that has a mesh net attached to it that the bottom half, slides under the mattress.
If you can't put the bed next to the wall, then get 2 of the rails, one for each side.
she will be fine.
