To turn the other cheek takes a whole lot of spirit, when then time comes I hope I can. Hate eats your insides, let it go. God bless you child.

I am with you. I do hate a lot. When I see someone who for philosophical reasons -- and not weakness -- forgives and forgets transgressions against him, I am impressed. I wish I could do that. I was taking some religious classes, and they told us each person is an embodiment of Christ, and that, therefore, to hate any individual is like hating Christ. That pulls you back a bit. For a while, I tried to analyze my feelings about my least favorite people, and see my way clear to forgive them for stuff they've done to make me hate them. I never managed to. I could only pretend to not hate them. The fire still burned within. Frankly, the ability to forgive is as foreign to me as the ability to eat five pounds of sardines. I can't imagine. I CANNOT imagine.
That makes it exceedingly impressive to me. And bewildering.

Methinks that forgiving your enemies takes balls, even when your on the losing end. It is hard to do, but you do win some sort of Respect, If you got heart.

Yeap, its something that you wish you would possess. But,no fun if everyone are loving and no hatred, all loving which is impossible.
Having someone to hate really a boaster. Not that I'm encouraging hatred, but in a way there a positive outcome.

It requires alot of thought and commitment based in faith. So yes I do. And I struggle to do likewise, believing that "when I am weakest, He is strongest" giving me strength to stand. Because I give God thanks, Jesus, thanks, for forgiving me my sins how can I receive forgiveness if I refuse to forgive?? Jesus tells us this in the Bible. "When you stand praying, if you hold anything against a brother, leave your gift at the altar, go and make peace with him"

I have trouble with forgiveness, but hating people will eat you alive eventually. Yo're hurting yourself more than anybody else.
