I heard that rumor, but Nextel and Sprint announced they weren't going to change the name. That's the last thing I heard.

sprint has bout out nextel and so nextel is now Sprint Nextel
but there has not been a definite decision on the name change yet.. they said there would be, but haven't announced it yet..so as of right now it's still the nextel cup brought to you by sprint

ya, they are changing it because sprint and nextel merged and they are called sprint now so nextel is done, i dont like it, but thats the way it is.
