I'm not part of an institutionalized church or school.

I guess I was wondering if you can explain criminal behaviors without being spiritual or address the failure of rehabilitation attempts with certain types of crimes. We've all heard remarks from criminals of all types who say they blacked out, a certain voice told them to do it, and I figured a Christian who studied the mind and spirit would see it as a spiritual problem? Also, you've heard many law enforcement agencies say certain criminals were "the epitomy or embodiment of evil" or just plain "evil". Do you think law enforcement officials realize the polar opposite of God's spirit in men the same as evil satanic forces in men? Or do we explain it some other way? In my mind, criminal psychology (got it right this time!) is actually a study of different demons and how they make people behave. I didn't know if anybody else thinks that is possibly the case or not.

Yes, your question makes sense.

You would have to integrate, personally, into your learned studies, a spiritual cause or influence. A person may do things because of moral weakness, and is , literally, open to suggestion. And, a person who i raised with lowered moral and spiritual values, may exhibit this thru transgressing law for personal benefit. Radical behavior may also be explained, in part, by spiritual/moral weakness....and the phrase "The evil made me do it" is not far off. It is the weaknesses that need to be understood. Maybe your institution allows for this in its pathology study?

From a Christian stand point every person is born with a nature that is inclined to sin. Each person is an individual who has an inclination to particular areas of sinful behavior. A child doesn't have to be taught to lie or to take something that doesn't belong to them.

Some people have an inclination towards sins that are against the law while others have an inclination towards sins that are not against the laws of mankind like drunkeness and fornication. That having been said Christianity doesn't deny environmental factors and the upbringing that a child receives when considering how a criminal's life takes shape.

Proverbs 22:6 Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it.

Ephesians 6:4 Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord.

1 Corinthians 15:33 Do not be deceived: "Bad company ruins good morals."

Nor does Christianity deny that the Devil seeks to tempt and lead human beings into a sinful and destructive life style.

John 8:44 You are of your father the devil, and your will is to do your father's desires. He was a murderer from the beginning, and has nothing to do with the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks out of his own character, for he is a liar and the father of lies.
