Has this ever happened to anyone else??

He did a chest x-ray, blood work, cat scan, mammogram, and I go for an ultrasound next. I'm worried because everything I hace read says rock hard lymphnodes indicate cancer. I was hoping someone had a rock hard node that was fine.

What were the lymph nodes your son had removed and how old was he?

Rock hard lymph nodes are not normal but they do not always indicate cancer. Your workup and evaluation sounds complete and if all of the tests are normal cancer becomes extremely unlikely. In my practice even if all tests are normal I would remove the lymph node as this is easily done in the office and provides a definitive diagnosis. I wish you the very best of luck and health.

to my son yes...because we had no idea what it was. an was scared to death...he went thru months of tests..doctors before they found out what it was and removed 6 lymph nodes, and thanks to god, he was ok

don't scare yourself like this...do as your doctor says...do all the testing...i'm sure you'll be ok...my prayers are with you
