The biggest immediate dangers are fever and dehydration. Until your medication arrives, make sure the dog gets plenty of fuilds. (Water down some Pedialyte; that usually works well.) Because parvo can make the dog weak and lethargic, you may have to force-feed the fluid with a needless syringe or turkey baster. Give the dog water every two hours -- day and night -- for the first several days. (Set your alarm clock and get up every 2 hours. don't let the dog go all night without fuild.)

You'll know if the dog is hydrated enough by doing this simple test: pinch up some of the loose skin at the back of the dog's neck and lift it straight up away from the dog's body. Then release the skin. If it snaps back into place, the dog is well-hydrated. If the skin goes back into place slowly or stays bunched up, the dog is seriously dehydrated and needs fluids.

For fever: take the dog's temperature with rectal thermometer. anything over 102 degrees it too hot. If the dog is running a fever, you can treat it with aspirin (do not use Tylenol or Advil). Give the dog 1/4 of a pill every four hours until the fever abates.

Parvo is a very tenacious virus and can live outside of a host for up to 6 months if the environment is right. While you're caring for your dog, you'll also need to make sure to clean everything the dog touched with bleach, to keep the dog from re-infection.

Best of luck.

Parvo is very virulent and your other dog will die too if he isn't given IV fluids to help him get through this.
Parvo causes (as you know) vomiting and diarrhea and dehydration from those things are what cause death. Since your dog won't feel like eating or drinking he needs to be on an IV with antibotics and meds to help control the vomiting so he will stop losing fluids.
If you want to save him you must get him to the vet and admit him. Even then there is no guarantee that he will make it. Parvo is a terrible infection. The earlier he gets treatment the better his chances are for survival.

you need to clean every thing the dog has been on with one part bleach and one part water, i mean everything,, if he is not eating make sure he is drinking if he isnt drinking then force fluids down him with a syringe of corse with out the needle,, i had a pit bull that got parvo and got her pydialite its the stuff you get a baby when it cant hold anything down so he dont get dehydidrated sorry didnt spell that right,, force it down every hour around the clock its ok if he dont eat as long as he keeps fluids down,,, in the next few days i would try him on cooked rice with drained hamburger or chicken,,, if he dont keep it down i would stop the solids again and push the fluids,,, that is what i did with my pit and she barely survived and after saving her life she died a year later of a sister to parvo so they are not very healthy after they get parvo so im just warning you,,, I really hope this helps and good luck with him,,, I will say a prayer for him that this nasty deadly virus doesnt kill him
