Mare (a female horse)

Theoretically it is a mare. But the comparison is unsuitable. A husband and wife are married and live for each other. Whereas, a horse and a mare are just male and female horses. They have no relationship whatsoever. So, their comparison to a husband - wife is not correct.

If this is a multiple choice, take none of the above.

Stallion is the name of a male horse
Mare would be the name of a female

But husband is not the name of a human male, it's a state of being - ditto wife.

It's a weak analogy
