Parables and stories... still two of the best aids to maintaining long term memory when teaching. For some reason, people seem to remember simple little generic stories easier. The only thing more memorable i think are the proverbs and songs(psalms back then.)

he was a huge fan of post-it notes,and also jotted hieroglyphics on his hand b4 a big presentation,such as "sermon on the mount."moses preferred stone tablets,but really they are bulky and impractical.
