That is an obscene amount of money for a ring!..Why not save most of that and use it towards a great honeymoon..or something for a new house or something. You can get beautiful rings for under 1,000. To some girls it does matter how nice it is..but it should be within means of your fiances. Not something you are paying off for years to come...(but I still say no matter what..7,000 is way to much for a ring)

$7000 is not as insane as people are making it sound. Its actually not a lot of money to spend on a ring. Many rings are worth waaaay over 7000.What matters is The color and clarity of the ring, not so much the size, you can have a big diamond that is all foggy and yellow. And whether or not the ring matters depends on the girl your with, some care alot whereas others would rather spend the money on better things. Think of it this way, if you have $7000 to spend on a ring, spend it.

Well, if you make mega bucks, I guess its not, if you have to borrow the money its crazy. My son and his soon to be wife decided they needed the money for a down payment on a nice house and decided to go with a ring that cost $300 and looks like about a $5000 ring. The band is real gold but the diamonds are just a good grade of cubic zirconia. Everyone rants and raves over her beautiful ring and she just smiles and thinks of the house they are going to buy. Now, I think for young people that's using your head. Love isn't about how much the ring cost. And why is it necessary to try and impress anyone? They decided some day when they can more afford it they will buy the real thing in the mean time no one knows the difference anyway.

FIRST OF ALL, CONGRATS TO YOU BOTH!!
Well, $7,000.00 USD is a HANDSOME amount to spend on an engagement ring. You know, maybe the two of you should talk about what your plans are for the future. Would your fiance' prefer you purchase a less-expensive ring, and perhaps use the money left over for a down-payment on a home? Remember, the ring you give to her is your gift in return for HER contemplation of marriage. When I got engaged (and I offer this as advice only, because every relationship is different...) my husband and I talked about what we wanted for our life together. What we were CERTAIN that we DIDN'T want was for our marriage to start off in DEBT. So, we chose to purchase a reasonable ring, 1 carat with good clarity and a nice white gold setting, and saved our money for our future. And, remember: You can ALWAYS purchase another stone to add to the original...Many people, including Lucille Ball, had rings from a gumball machine! It shouldn't be the size of the price tag that determines the worth, it should be the love you have in your heart for her. Good luck, my friend.

$7000 to me is way to much to spend on an engagement ring. Me, I am a very simple person and it dont take all that much to please me. I told my fiancee, when he asked what kind of ring I wanted I said that it didnt matter as long as it was from the heart, but I didnt want something so little and tiny that it cant be seen. To me that is a little steep for a ring but if you got the money and thats what you want go ahead on but make sure you budget everything first before purchasing it so that you wont regret it later. Good Luck

wow!! i really think thats alittle much. My fiance bought my first ring for about $500..many people would say thats too cheap, but we are young and I dont care how much he spent, its the thought that matters. He later upgraded to about a $2000 ring. I love it just the same. Yes, its bigger, but he picked it out, followed his heart, and it was perfect. Quality is important and for $7000 you better get a good ring, but I think start off a little cheaper. You can get a nice ring for a smaller price than that. Good luck and follow your heart. She'll love whatever you get her.

Wow, that is A LOT of money. But if you have that kind of money, go ahead and spend it on an awesome engagement ring. It kind of matters how nice it is because I'm sure the girl has been dreaming about it since she was a little girl. Talk to a ring dealer and they will help you out. Good luck to you! I hope you guys have a happy life together.

Actually it depends on the quality of the stone. If you know someone in jewelry business, go with 'em. If not, Costco is a good place for a diamond ring. You will not get ripped off.
If you got some money saved up, I'd recommend a minimum 1 carat diamond ring.

Honestly depend's on the girl. Some girls are just happy they have a man that can commit to them Other girl's wan't the biggest rings. The way you can find out if she is really into wanting a big ring is see the way she is. Is she money hungary and also expect you to bie her thing's. My self personaly yes i think 7000 is way too much to spend on a ring i don't know where you are shopping but you can get a realllly nice right for under that you just have to go out looking. ( unless your rich and wan't to spend that much then all the power to you) But to answer your question it depends on the girl really.

If you're a millionaire, just cheap..But if you're just an average guy, you can spend 7000 dollars for a ring and some expenses for the engagement party (if you will hold any). Be practical you know, you will be spending money for the wedding ring, etc etc...

A woman loves to be treated special but i think a simple ring would do to make her feel special.
