We are both 18 and hes been broken up with her for 3 weeks now. She lives in a different state and I live right next door.

Depends on the guy, how long he was with his ex and how much he liked her. Who finished who also has a say in it. It's likely that if he ended things with her, he'll be ready to date sooner than if it was the other way round. It depends how much he likes you too. If you're thinking about making a move, I'd probably put you off doing it for a bit. In this kind of situation, it's sometimes better for him to make the first move. If you like him, you don't want to be seen as being insensitive. Just be there for him, and it'll all work out.

There is no rule for how a guy waits. Some guys start dating right away while others might take months or even a year before starting to date again. It is not so cut and dried, there are many factors that would go into this.

Varies a lot... I've been around for a while, and I've started dating someone else immediately (or even during) after the breakup.

On the other hand - I got really hurt last time around - and haven't dated in almost two years...

Prior to that my longest without a partner was about six months, usually much less.

when my boyfriend broke up with me it was 1. 3 months and 2. 3 weeks i guess it just depends on what ur guy is like

well it depends sometimes a girl just shows up and things click and it took me 12 hours once other times it's take a month or so

that depends on a lot of things, esp varies with person to person_ in my case, it i started dating right away_ not b/c i didn't love my ex but b/c it was a sort of nasty breakup and i didnt want to be alone_ things just started happening w/ this other girl who i already was friends with_

He dates as soon as possible. the only thing thaat helps you get over the last one is the next one.
