Why does long distance relationships suck?

There are a lot of reasons why they could suck.
A) You're too far away to see each other often.
B) When you miss them really bad only a phone call will suffice
C) Someone in the relationship may get too loney, drunk, and cheat with or without the other person knowing.
D) It's expensive traveling back and forth.
E) Someone in the relationship may get jealous when the other person goes out with friends etc.

It depends on the situation and the people in the relationship. Loads of people say long distance is better. From my experience, they aren't. I started Uni last year, and had already been with my boyfriend for almost 2 years. We used to see each other almost every day and got along great. Both went to Uni and then everything changed. We weren't too far apart..only about a 50 minute drive, but he had so many new things going on that he didn't seem to have the time for me anymore. We slowly grew apart - took a while for me to realise it. The most frustrating thing about being in two different places for me was that when we spoke on the phone it was like we were having the same conversation over and over again. He went from being the person who knew everything about me and experienced everything with me, to being someone who didn't know what I was doing and wasn't really that interested. Like I say, it depends on the people. I think if both are willing to put the time and effort in, and truly care about each other then long distance relationships can work. Commitment is key though.
