That whole area north of Los Angeles consisting of Burbank, Hollywood, Beverly Hills, UCLA, and Santa Monica is nicer than the rest of LA, but Hollywood is kinda rundown. Hollywood has a lot of goths. Young kids dressed dark and sitting on the street curb. Besides that, it is a nice place to live. The weather is great. There are some new large apartment towers going up in Hollywood, which hasn't happened in a long time. One of the first things that you want to do is go to the beach at Santa Monica. The boardwalk stretches for miles on past Venice Beach. There are a lot of hard drugs in California so it won't be long before someone offers you some.

One cannot really "live" in North Hollywood, one can only "exist."
