Female friend in late 30's and only wants / allows me (her partner) sex once a week if that! Is it her or is it me doing something wrong sexually?

maybe you aren't very good at it. maybe she is not into it. don't think at some magical age you'll be screwing this particular one 5 times a week

Every woman is different but its generally agreed that a woman reaches her sexual peak in her 30's. Frankly speaking as a woman so much of sex for us is between our ears and not our thighs. Sex is not only physical for us but emotional as well. Maybe your not hitting the right emotional notes throughout the days and weeks. Why not just ask her straight up what she wants. You can't be a jerk during the day and have your expectations met in bed. However, it could be something in her past relationships (sexual and otherwise) thats holding her back. Have a heart to heart talk about it and don't be defensive or antagonistic.
