Get rid of the penny and the US $1 paper bill. That costs too much to make also.
$1 coins last longer.

I say keep it--without the penny, retailers and other businesses and organizations will simply round up their prices. The only way I could favor getting rid of the penny would be if retailers, insurers, hospitals, etc, were all required to round *down* their prices instead of up. Since that would never happen, we need to keep the penny.

I assumed you were going to ask about dis-banning nuclear weapons...was I mistaken. Is dis-banning the penny an effort to reduce the cost of defense spending...can't see how else it relates to the military.

To answer your question...no, keep the darn thing.
