Hmm....It kind of does matter. Because why would you want to moisterize your dirt? In my opinion, always use conditioner last. Because in the end, when you shampoo your conditioned hair, it loses its conditioning molecules that hydrate your hair. So do your hair a favor, and use shampoo, then conditioner. Shampoo is like cleaning your hair like you would clean your body with a bar of soap. Conditioner is like moisturizing your hair as you would with lotion on your body. So think of it that way, why would you put lotion on your body, then get in the shower and wash your body? It would defeat the lotion's purpose of moisturizing, because you are just washing it away. So conditioning your hair is moisturizing it, then if you shampooed your hair afterwards, then you would be washing out the conditioner, leaving your hair dry and tangled. Not what you want! LOL! Just read the instructions!! They all say shampoo first and condition last. Otherwise, you're just washing the conditioner right out of your hair and it won't be as soft or manageable.
Hope I helped!

Yes it does matter. Shampoo is used first as it is like a soap to clean the hair and scalp. Conditioner is used last as it is to condition your hair. If conditioner is used first, its purpose would be defeated once washed with shampoo. Using shampoo last will leave hair dry, and if long and/or thick, very difficult to comb, which then would cause damaged hair, split ends, breaking, etc. Aslo if using a leave in conditioner, it would be very pointless to use first, as it is a "leave in" conditioner.

ARE you MADD... Shampoo first, because its to clean the hair and the scalp and takes away all the dirt and oils, then it keaves it dry, Then conditioner to moisturize your hair... If you use 2 in 1 shampoo/conditioner it doesnt matter .

Shampoo strips the hair of all dirt and things like that and then conditioner replenishes it so if you are trying to just strip your hair of all mostiure then shampoo last but if you you want your hair to feel nice after your done then i would shampoo and then condition

I think it does. Shampoo removes all the oil and buildup in your hair and conditioner replaces those oils and moisturizes so if you shampoo second you'll be striping the hair of the moisturizers you just put in it.

yes, a conditioner doesn't lather up like shampoo so it won't do a good job of cleaning your hair. use shampoo first to clean, followed by a conditioner to soften the hair. conditioners are a thicker formula so it should go on last.
