Hello carencare... :)
Knowledge is the accumulation of facts or being mentally aware of something. We gain knowledge through study and observation.
The gift of Knowledge is different from natural knowledge, it is when God helps us to know something that we have never learned through natural methods..
Wisdom is understanding what to do with the knowledge we have been given. A Pastor may be given the gift of Knowledge to reveal that someone in his congregation is going through hard times. Just knowing there is a problem doesn't solve it. To solve the problem, God must give the Pastor the gift of Wisdom..
In Jesus Most Precious Name..
With Love..In Christ.. :)

Knowledge is something that you have to learn. Wisdom is gained from experience or given by God. Knowledge you understand with your mind....like 2+2=4. Wisdom comes from revelation and an understanding of things beyond the surface, beyond the facts, beyond the evidence of what is seen.
BTW What are your references for King Solomon being heavy in the "Occult"...I would be interested to know.

When he walked with the Lord he prayed for wisdom. He wanted wisdom to lead God's people. Knowledge is learning physical things like math, history, how to make and do practical things, etc. Wisdom on the other hand, is knowing how to handle situations let's say, knowing things that cannot be taught in a school. Commen sense falls under that category. You can have knowledge and not have wisdom and probably visa versa. After he began marrying foreign women, which God told him not to, that's when he began worshipping their gods. Maybe at that point he turned from wanting wisdom to wanting knowledge. I don't know.

education is reliable, because it teaches you a thanks to study, the thanks to self-discipline your ideas. understand-how for a Christian is understanding the word, understanding your God, His nature, His will, His outlook on issues. understanding is searching at issues from God's perspective and putting them into action. understand-how is excellent, yet too a lot of it may puff you up in case you do not counteract it with fruit of the Spirit. Ever understand someone who's very knowledgeable, yet has no temperance and no love? Their understand-how is very nearly ineffective contained in the destiny. yet understanding? you locate that and your soul shall stay, because once you locate understanding, you locate the way God Himself looks at a difficulty. Proverbs 3: with the aid of understanding the Lord laid the earth’s foundations, with the aid of understanding he set the heavens in position; with the aid of his understand-how the watery depths were divided, and the clouds allow drop the dew.

Understanding Wisdom... difference between wisdom and knowledge!
Wisdom is gaining knowledge about the absolute. Wisdom (aka jnana in Hinduism) is knowing God and his system. Understanding the crux of Bhagavad Gita, sacred scriptures of Jainism, the Buddhist scriptures, Bible and Quran is Wisdom.
Gaining different types of knowledge (it can be bookish knowledge, vocal knowledge or any other type of knowledge) while in a school or College is termed as knowledge.
All knowledge gained helps us live this physical manifested world in a better way. But gaining wisdom leads us directly towards the kingdom of God. This is the ultimate reality.
Gaining knowledge does not necessarily mean gaining knowledge about the kingdom of God. If we are to fare well in the physical manifested world... we need to gain good knowledge of any profession to succeed.
On the contrary if we desire to gain enlightenment and finally salvation (liberation from the cycle of birth and death forever) we need to indulge ourselves in studying the various scriptures.
Wisdom leads us towards getting liberated from the human form once and for all. Knowledge makes us wise to lead a happy and cheerful life in the physical manifested world.
The onus is on every human being to choose the path... whether we desire to gain ultimate wisdom and leave this mortal world forever by gaining enlightenment and salvation or we desire to take birth again and again on Mother Earth and enjoy life with our love of life.
As willed by God every human being has been given a maximum of 1.1 million manifestations in the form of a human being and that equals approximately 12.1 million earthly years before we finally gain enlightenment and salvation automatically.
If we desire to gain enlightenment and salvation early... we need to digest the pearls of wisdom hidden in the various sacred scriptures of different religions. Mahavira did that and so did Gautama Buddha. Jesus Christ also traveled the path of enlightenment and finally salvation and so did Prophet Mohammed.
Mahavira, Gautama Buddha, Jesus Christ and Prophet Mohammed... all were men of wisdom. In the initial stages of their life they realized that bookish knowledge alone would not lead them to the ultimate goal of life.
Being a success in life does not necessarily mean one is full of wisdom. A cobbler sitting by the tree toiling hard day and night to earn his living may be much ahead of a King on the path of wisdom.
In the house of God... it is difficult to differentiate and analyze who is a man of wisdom other than the worldly knowledge one possesses. More on wisdom here- http://www.godrealized.com/enlightenment.html
