Ah, the old Messenger Service spam, I haven't heard of someone suffering this for a while. It's dead easy to stop, you just need to disable the Messenger service on your machine:

Note: this service is in no way connected to the MSN Messenger instant messaging client so doing this doesn't affect your ability to use MSn to chat to people.

Yes, you need to disable the messenger service. Start > Run > services.msc

Double click on and Disable Messenger

Now - the bigger problem - you NEED a firewall turned on ASAP or get behind a router doing NAT. Dont allow exceptions unless you know which port or application you need to put a hole in.

Someone on your subnet has found your IP address and is sending this message to you.

I highly recommend Zone Alarm as you control not only inbound traffic, but outbound as well. This is in case a program (legit or not) is trying to phone home with your private info. Hey - its free.

These are not from Microsoft, you have spyware and possibly a virus. If you are using Windows XP, download Windows Defender and run it to remove spyware. If you don't have Windows XP, get SpyBot and Ad-Aware from download.com.

If you don't have antivirus, get Avast or AVG, one or the other quickly, download, install and run it.

Then turn off the Windows Messenger Service, which is a pain in the .... Click on Start, Settings, Control Panel, Add/Remove Programs, and on the left side click on Remove Windows Components. When this box loads, find Messenger and disable it. Restart your computer and that should fix it.
