when he is down right ready. My 9 /12 month old is NO WHERE ready to walk! He started crawling at 6 1/2 months like my other 2, but my other 2 walked at 10 months. Go figure... Every baby is different. But I'm not rushing this one to walk, as he is my last baby!

Boys are notorious for being late walkers and tend to take their own time in doing things. Don't rush the walking. I understand the excitement of a first child and all, but let the poor kid learn to crawl first before getting up and taking those all important first steps. Most children start standing up and taking tentative steps between 10 and 11 months of age. Once they get their balance and start feeling confident, watch out! By the time they are about 3 and a half, running enters the picture and then there is no keeping up with them. Be ready - it'll happen soon enough!

Not a dumb question. Children develop motor skills at different stages in their lives. My daughter skipped the whole crawling process and went from holding onto things for about 2 weeks..then she was ready to go...full steam ahead. If he started to craw about a week or so ago...It won't be long before he is on the move...enjoy it while you can, because once they start pulling themselves up and hanging onto things...give 'em a couple of weeks and then they are off....vvvvvrrrrroooooommmmm!!!
You can always help hold him up and walk with him..If you get too impatient for him to start walking, this will help them move a llittle faster through the crawling stage!
Good luck

A year old is AVERAGE....My son didn't walk until 14 months old. My twins walked at 9 months, and my girls were somewhere in between.

But, my late bloomer son didn't crawl till around 9-10 months either....kind of worried me but he was totally normal.

Final answer- Every baby is different.

It all depends on the baby some start as early as 10 months and some don't start way later on. My daughter started walking at 16 months so every baby is different. Good Luck.

Babies can start walking from as early as 6-7 months to as late as like...13-14 months. It just depends on the child. My nephew started walking maybe a few weeks or so after his 1st birthday, but my daughter (6months old) is trying to do all of it now! Just be patient and it will happen, and than youll want him to stop!! :)

My twin sons were born premature, 7 weeks early. One of them crawled at 8 months walked at 13 months old...the other crawled at 11 months and walked at 18 months. We were scared to death something was wrong! They are now 2 1/2 and sometimes i wish neither of them walked!!! haha all kids are different but enjoy the time they are little, once they walk its goodbye mommy and hello breakables! haha

It could be anytime from now until he is around 14 months. (That is only the average though--some babies walk even later and are normal)
When he starts walking around furniture and pulling himself to stand you will know he is getting closer.
Sorry, there is no formula to tell when they will walk. (some babies who crawl early walk late but some babies who never crawl walk early--every baby is just different)
Enjoy every minute-- each stage lasts such a short time.

He will walk when he is ready. My son didn't walk until 14 months. A relative told us he was lazy. He is 9 now and a good student, hard worker, and one of the fastest runners in his class. All kids are different. Just don't let anyone upset you like I did.
