Especially right around Christmas. It's not the ACLU who changed Merry Christmas in the stores, it's the merchants. So why all the complaining about them?

Notice I said "some" Christians, not all Tek Jan.

SETFREEBY: Show me a link to that nonsense you are spouting off. That never happened.

Everyone who doesn't believe that the ACLU stands up for the rights of Christians should take a look at Raven's Voice post. She has several good links to prove the ACLU stands up for everyone.

You said it right! So glad someone has some sense here on Yahoo. The ACLU stands for the American Civil Liberties Union, not the American Christian Lies Union.

They work to protect every American’s civil rights, not the Right winged christian conservative agenda. Wish people would just leave them alone. The ACLU have more important things to do than listen to Christians whine about how noone says “Merry Christmas” anymore.

Actually it not just the merchants it is also the ACLU . The merchants don't want to be tied up in court. But some are taking a stand . This year WAL-MART is allowing the cashiers to say MERRY CHRISTMAS this year. The ACLU is a lot stronger than a lot of people think. The ACLU has tried to pick up where the O'Hares left off

Well, there are a lot of uber-conservative religious types who TELL them that the ACLU is anti-Christian.

They rarely if ever check out the ACLU's history of defense of the free religious expression of Christians.

It's easier to believe that you're being persecuted (if you already have a desire to feel that way) than to find out what is "actual and factual".

ATTN Terry S. Sad to say, you've been lied to. So, shall we expect some sort of retraction from you on this? And maybe an apology? And perhaps it might be wise to question the motivations of anyone who's been telling you that the ACLU never defends Christians. Why would they LIE like that, do you suppose?

From what I know of the ACLU, they'll defend any legitimate issue - even aid Christians. They are the embodiment of, "I disagree with what you say, but I defend your right to say it."

gods bless America, and the ACLU.

Ask John Hagee! LOL

I'm not American, it really doesnt affect me, but I know they're a bunch of secular humanists, and feel thats what everyone wants. And that secular humanist ideas are good for everyone! When thats more ignorant than even the worst Christian.
