Do what you want as long as you don't hurt anyone. Forget about the Bible. It's just a fictional tale to try and scare you.

Well, there were no churches during most of the Bible times for one thing (though there were synagogues), so don't worry about that. Churches were created by followers of Christianity some time after Christ left the earth. Jesus never had a church nor attended one. And marriage at the time had a lot to do with treating women like property. And people got married when they were about 12. So the Bible isn't exactly a good source for moral guidance in those areas. Additionally, it's known that people were allowed to have sex before they got married if they had made the commitment to get married. So the people during Old Testament times actually did have sex "outside of marriage."
Much of the time when the Bible is talking about sex, it's talking about adultery, not sex outside of marriage anyway.
Presuming there were a God, I don't think he would be unhappy with people having sex outside of marriage, so long as they were respectful of one another and not taking advantage of one another.
Either way, we don't live in a day when we're getting married at 12 years old, so I don't think any reasonable person expects you to wait until you marry to have sex.
Just be careful. You know what I mean! :)

Jesus raised the institution of marriage from a contract between the groom and the bride's father to the dignity of a Sacrament. Consensual sex between married couples for the purpose of procreation, not premarital sex for the purpose of recreation. That is what marriage and family is all about.
Where is the sanctity of marriage, the family unit, the love of God when we say, "We are in love so that makes it right!" Why do you suppose men have lost respect for women if not because women are so willing nowadays to engage in premarital sex? This lack of respect leads to erosion of the family unit, abortion, social disease such as AIDS, herpes, porn, etc. All because people (men and women) want to disregard Christian teaching and just do what feels good.
The Ten Commandments condemns adultery. The New Testament tells us of the woman with five husbands who is not married to the one she is with now thereby subtly condemning relationships out of wedlock. The Bible also exalts proper weddings, examples: The Wedding of Cana. See also Hebrews 13; 4... Marriage honorable in all and bed undefiled...
You can't just make up your own rules as you go along and still say you are Christian.
Best,
H

Well, you have to receive a marriage licence to get married anywhere, and have to be married by someone who is authorized to perform marriages (usually a pastor or judge.) As far as the Bible goes, I don't believe you have to be in wedlock to have sex. However, if you do decide to have sex outside of wedlock, make sure that you are responsible about it. Use birth control, and you should both be tested for STD's if you've ever had even one sexual partner in the past, and use condoms until you both have a clean bill of health. You don't need to feel that you're being sinful if you are both being safe and monogamous.

Who performed the wedding ceremony for Adam and Eve? Were "the rules" different for them? So does that mean that Cain and Abel were illegitimate? If that were the case, and if the Bible is true and all of humanity is descended from them.....
Personally, the way I see it, if both parties are consenting adults (or, if under the age of consent, the age difference is minimal enough that it doesn't contribute to coercion) and no body is being forced, hurt, conned, coerced, etc. then there is nothing wrong with it.

Good golly Miss Molly, Marriage not only brings respectability into the relationship, but solves a lot of legal entanglements that can arise from co-habitation or un-married participants.
True love culminates in marriage, or it is just free sex for the other participant.

When Jesus met the woman by the well in the middle of the day (it was the middle of the day because she could not go during the morning when everyone else went because of her reputation), he told her her sins but he did so in a way where she knew what he was talking about by saying she had had 5 husbands and the one she was living with now was NOT her husband meaning she was living in sin. You can rationalize your behavior anyway you would like but, the truth is you are fornicating without marriage.

No, I would say nothing wrong because I am doing the same thing. If you love someone I don't think a piece of paper saying you are married, would make it more right.

marriage is a human invention and a legal issue as well. sex is a normal human response to love and I totally believe that if your heart tells you that he's the guy, then god agrees, because god is in your heart, not in any particular church or temple.

marrying on legal paper is different in the eyes of the lord. a pastor may perform the rights without the paper work, true, you won't be "legally" married in the eyes of the land, but in the eyes of the lord, you are.

If you're risking having a child without a legal contract in place, you're an idiot. All that bible stuff is secondary.
