that it's better to "spill your seed in the belly of a whore, than to spill it on the ground"?
I've looked for it...can't find it anywhere. I don't think it's even in the Bible, but if someone can give me book, chapter, verse, and from which VERSION of the Bible, I'll stand corrected.

The whole reason for this question is because someone on here actually claimed that it was in the Bible.
Well, that's part of the reason. One of my Christian friends also tried to tell me it was in the Bible, so I did a quick search on biblegateway, in EVERY English version they had on there, and it was nowhere to be found.
I figured I'd try one more time, and ask you beautiful, other informed people on here!

THERE IS NO SUCH VERSE.....! But perhaps and Really a Misinterpretation of This one is often misquoted!
(Genesis 38:8-9-10) And Judah said unto Onan, Go in unto thy brother's wife, and marry her, and raise up seed to thy brother.
(Gen 38:9) And Onan knew that the seed should not be his; and it came to pass, when he went in unto his brother's wife, that he spilled it on the ground, lest that he should give seed to his brother.
(Gen 38:10) And the thing which he did displeased the LORD: wherefore he slew him also.
Thanks, RR

I doubt you'll find it. Sounds like one of the early "Church Fathers".
But if you look up Genesis 38:8-10 you'll find the basis for it. Under Mosaic Law, if a man died childless his brother was to marry her and give her children, to 'preserve' his line.
Onan was meant to do this, but he pulled out early and "spilled it [his 'seed'] on the ground".
In consequence, God slew him.
Although what he did was 'coitus interruptus', the "Sin of Onan" ["Onanism"] became the Scriptural support for all the anti-masturbation stuff and has/had been extended to cover anything which prevents procreation - the sole aim of matrimony! (If you're a strict follower of RC teachings, anyway. Liberal Roman Catholics and other denominations do tend to accept 'mutual enjoyment' for the two partners as equally important.
What is called "Levirate Marriage" is still part of Orthodox Jewish custom, by the way. But if neither man nor woman is keen on the idea - or are already married! - there is a formal ceremony. She has a shoe tied in a complicated lace, which he has to undo with one hand. She then spits in his face - modified to him stepping back and her spitting where he stood - and, I believe, the smashing of a glass by him, her or them both to symbolise the dead man's line has been broken.)

It doesn't say that. Christians say that. They base it loosely on this passage:
Then Judah said to Onan, "Lie with your brother's wife and fulfill your duty to her as a brother-in-law to produce offspring for your brother." But Onan knew that the offspring would not be his; so whenever he lay with his brother's wife, he spilled his semen on the ground to keep from producing offspring for his brother. What he did was wicked in the LORD's sight; so he put him to death also. (NIV, Genesis 38:8-10)
Although it should be noted that this and all other anti birth control references are in the Old Testament. The old covenant has been broken, so there is doubt it still applies any more than the passages outlawing the eating of pork. Also, was God mad about Onan using a crude form of birth control, or was he just pissed that Onan didn't do what he was told?

That verse is an old wive's tale. In Genesis 38, it talks about Onan being put to death for spilling his seed , cause he was purposely denying his bro's widow any offspring. Nowhere does it say it's better to be with a whore.

It isnt in there... its a phrase made up by some pastors in referance to the account of Onan who was struck dead for spilling his seed on the ground. They (some pastors) use this to claim maturbation is a sin, but the passage is about Onan being commanded to take his dead brothers wife as his own and impregnate her, keeping the family line and he refused.

This particular "scripture" is called a "chimney corner scripture".
It is NO WHERE to be found in the Bible, because it is a lie.
If it were true, there would be a Bordello next to every church in the land.
