Pushups are a superb upper body exercise that use the body’s own weight to build a sound fitness foundation. They promote strength, balance and stability by developing several key muscles, including the pectoralis major in the chest, the deltoids or shoulder muscles, the scapular muscles and rotator cuff, the triceps located on the back of the upper arm and the upper back muscles.
Pushups can also contribute to better posture and help protect your back from injury and strain. By practicing perfect form while executing pushups, and applying that same form to your upright stance, you may not only stand taller and straighter but you’ll reduce the potential for back pain.

if you don't wanna use weights, do these 3 basic exercises to build all your major muscle groups: 1. push-up (for chest, triceps, and shouldes): you can use regular stance, narrow, explosive, and eventually one handed to really impress people. 2. squats (for legs): once again variations can include regular, one legged, and jumping on one or both legs. also jump from side to side. 3. pull-ups (for back and biceps): you'll need to find a playground or some kind of bar for this one, but basically you can have it palms facing away or palms towards you. there's also one handed if you're strong enough. how to do them is up to you. you can do them one exercise at a time, resting between each exercise. maybe something like 3 or 4 sets of however many you can do. there's also a circuit method where you do one after another, THEN rest before repeating the circuit again. the key is variation to keep it challenging. your muscles are meant to adapt, so to keep them working and growing, you must challenge them in some way.
