No.

If it is in evidence they salute the hero wearing it. Enlisted also must salute.

Tis carries over into the hero's civilian life as well.

First of all there is no such thing as the congressional medal of honor. Its just Medal of Honor. And yes if you get it everyone salutes you as a matter of respect. Also you get a pay raise if you survive. You will most likely get ameritoriously promoted to a higher rank. Your Pro and Con Marks will be 5.0 5.0. If your not in the Mlilitary you wont understand that. And your kids dont have to pay to go to college.

lds... is pretty much on target. I would just add a clarification that the recipient's children receive a free college education at any of the military academies...not any college or university.

Also the Medal recipient receives a special pension of $1,027 per month and an additional 10% in retirement pay (not to exceed 75% maximum retirement).

Actually there is no written requirement that anybody salute a person who has been awarded the MOH.

There is a strong tradition that this be done however. (Failing to follow this tradition will get you 'noticed' by senior officers and NCOs - and they will ensure that you never make that mistake again.)
