What does it mean when you say "I need to see a man about a horse"? I heard it was a reference saying you need to go to the bathroom, but I wasn't sure.

Thanks!!

It means the same thing as "See a man about a dog". A restroom break, or, got to go pee.
Very simple saying that has been around forever.
