Can someone please tell me what being a US Marshal is like? I'm wondering if they get much time at all off, what their families have to go through, etc. I'm planning right now to serve at least 4 years in the US Marine Corps, and then try to take a job as a US Marshal. Thank you.

P.S: Does anyone know what US Marshals do at their basic training?

Federal Marshals work on a schedule much like that of a regular police officer. They work a rotation shift. Sometimes day, sometimes nights. They also work when needed on Holidays. They do witness protection of fed. witnesses, protect judges, do bailiff duties in federal court, serve federal warrents, round up fugitives, etc. Training for the U.S. Marshal's Service is done at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC) in Glynco, Georgia.

Being a deputy isn't surely transporting and court take care of practices. sensible, previously each and every little element it really is dull via very actuality you're tasked for court and prisoner transports. no matter if, as right now as you get it slow on, you get to bypass out on better warrants (arresting federal fugitives). it really is a hell of plenty better ideal (and larger prestigious) than being a "huge city cop." Plus vacation journeys off, you could no longer beat that.
