ourselves. My mom seems to think that there aren't. I don't know of any but seeing as it is such a wise thing it must be in there somewhere. All help appreciated. Thanks

Thank you for your answers. I think she knows that her body is a temple. It's just that she doesn't take very good care of herself psychologically. The only one I could think of was Love your neighbor as you love yourself. Surely that would signify that we are supposed to love ourselves. Treat ourselves lovingly. If we are God's creation I don't think he would want us to not like ourselves, to not be gentle with ourselves, to not love ourselves (he obviously wants us to love our neighbors)
He doesn't say love your neighbors more than yourself. I'm not trying to disagree.
I want my mom to treat herself better emotionally, pschologically.

1 Corinthians 6:19,20--- What know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?
FOR ye are bought with price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.

1 Corinthians 3:16,17:--- Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?
If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are.

1 Corinthians 15:44.....There is a natural body and there is a spiritual body

Galatians 5:19-23: Now the works of the flesh are manifest; which are these : Adultery, fornication, uncleaness, lasciviousness, Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, wrath, strife , seditions, heresies, envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings and such like: of which I tell you before, as I have also told you in times past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.

Everything we do must be to the Glory of God.

The Works of the Flesh harms our bodies and make them unacceptable to inherit the kingdom of God.

The Fruit of the Spirit prepares us to enter into the Kingdom of God, when we become Christians and children of God by following God's plan of salvation.

Hear God's word, Believe it, Repent, Confess before men, and be immersed in Baptism to wash away all our sins, and then rise up to walk a new life with Christ. Acts 2:38; Acts 22:16 Mark 16:15,16; Romans 10:9,10; Galatians 3:26,27; Acts 8: 27-39.

Please, I hope you take the time to read these scriptures; King James Version of the Holy Bible.

May they enlighten your way and if you would like more info on The Church of Christ please let me know on this site,

Thank you for your interest in God's Word.

Somewhere in Leviticus: "Love your neighbor as YOURSELF". In order to love your neighbor, you have to love yourself.
