I want to write up a list of house rules to post throughout my house. I am sick of everyone abusing certain privaleges. Like leaving my toliet stopped up or not picking up after themselves. I am not a slave. What should I do and how should I go about it? And what are some reasonable rules that are fair to everyone but also keeps things in order?

Are you talking about your family, your children and everything, or are you renting/sharing a house with other people your age?
I think just having everyone clean up after themselves is a good general rule. If you feel as if you're being a slave for everyone, stop cleaning up after them and just clean after yourself. When things start getting dirty, they'll get the point.

I've had signs all over my house.
Lights Off! at the light switch
Cold water only! on the washing machine
Watch water usage on the wall behind kitchen sink
You could put a sign on the top of the toilet "Is this toilet stopped up?"

make the rules
short and not to many
