There's nothing wrong with swearing. There are some people who are overly sensitive to certain words being said, so you have to be careful in public and formal settings. However, it really is silly.
The words you use really don't matter as much as what you say with the words. I can give someone a compliment using "swear words", and I can say the most vile things with a 1st grade vocabulary.
People concentrate on specific words used because it is easier than dealing with what is actually said.

Language is a way of expressing ones self.
Swearing words are easier to remember and you do not have to think much prior to saying them.
In other words the less you think the more you swear.
If you try not to swear it makes you think.
Try it sometime.

I don't know if it has to do with LIKING it, or just feeling superior, or simply picking it up more often because of who you hang around with. The more you're around it, the more you're enabled to hear it, therefore the more likely you are to repeat it more or less often.
