He knows nothing about Mexico so why should he be punished for something he did not do. A baby does not know right from wrong, better yet: what a law is. Has the government thought about that?

I dont think you can do much. Until Senate passes so called Dream Act, there is nothing you can do.

Marriage is not going to solve... If he enteretd the country illegally mariage will not help, it could help only if he entered the country legally and also it would be a felony to marry to obtain immigration benefits...

http://www.nilc.org/immlawpolicy/DREAM/Dream001.htm

"A new version of the bipartisan DREAM Act, which addresses the tragedy of young people who grew up in the United States and have graduated from U.S. high schools but whose future is circumscribed by current immigration laws, has been introduced in the Senate by Senators Orrin Hatch (R-UT) and Richard Durbin (D-IL). Under current law, these young people generally derive their immigration status solely from their parents, and when the parents are undocumented or in immigration limbo, their children have no mechanism to obtain legal residency. Yes, there is help - tell him to return to Mexico, and then start the application process for a visa. He'll have to wait in line behind the 4 million people around the world that are also waiting their turn. It's not his fault he was brought here illegally, but as an adult he has a chance to do the right thing, the legal way.

Ummm....the government already has in place programs that would allow almost any illegal who would want to normalize their status and eventually become a citizen to do so.

I mean, I know you are just an ignorant liberal who is lying to try and manipulate people on the illegals issue. But, the truth is that if you did have such a friend, he could easily and immediately freeze his status by hiring a lawyer and filling out some paperwork. As long as he wasn't a criminal with a long history of violence (or a terrorist), the chances that he would be made LEGAL within several months, is about 100%. Until then, he has the right to stay in the US under his own powers. After he legalizes, he can then seek citizenship. It all takes time but there is no reason for anyone to stay as an illegal if they don't want to. The amnesty issue is a complete red herring as it is already de facto, in place. It already exists.

But the illegals issue isn't about that. It's about the fact that illegals are 2% of our population, yet 35% of our prison population. 95% of california murders are by illegals. 90% of the felony fugitive arrest warrants are for them. Less than 3% of illegals work in any sort of capacity. Substantially more than that collect welfare even though this is ILLEGAL. Illegal aliens are mostly violent criminals. Scum that belong to dangerous paramilitary drug gangs based in mexico (and trying to overthrow that nation's government, as I write this). If they succeed, we have a major national security problem on our hands. But, even if they don't, this is basically an invasion by a group incredibly hostile towards us. People who rape, rob, murder at levels that are truly awe inspiring. People who see our country as their own drug turf

That has to stop.

I have nothing against legal immigration. So take a minute to read this and be honest..............................

Here are some questions for you.
Anywhere in the world at 18 he was an adult - so as a man.......
Did he ever think of finding out about checking his status? Finding out what paperwork he could file to get a visa? Does he need a visa ? Does he have documentation of being in the US for 20 years?Has he done anything at all to even try to find out?

You seem to have access to a computer so have you attempted to find out with him? for him?given him use of your computer? Does he even give a fig one way or the other? Find out before you blame society or the government or whomever else you can think of.

Has the government thought of what ? Checking to see if there are people to complacent or lazy to look into the matter for themselves'?

All he has to do is wait one more year and he's safe to apply for legal American citizenship. Anchor babies can't claim their parents until then...
