I don't care what anyone says. I use, Happy Holidays when I talk to other people because it covers everything.
I'm not a Christian, but Christmas doesn't offend me either... Though, being that my name is Christy, I think Christymas has a much nicer ring to it.
Oh dear, blasphemy. My bad.

I dont care about "Happy Holidays". There are several holidays all within the same month and id like people to be happy in them all. What I dont like and others dont is those of us celebrating Christmas, arent allowed to SAY Christmas. Arent allowed to have a nativity scene or any of that. Im not offended at all by Happy Chanukha, Happy Kwanzaa or any of them so if anyone is offended with Merry Christmas, they should just get over themselves and let others enjoy it their way.

It's a great question, and a great tragedy that it has had to be asked. There have been celebrations at this time of year for centuries before Christ, when the pagans celebrated the winter solstice, and coincidentally at Easter too, when the spring equinox was celebrated. (Ever noticed that Easter's date changes every year, and that it coincides with a full moon?) I'm not Christian bashing, I believe Jesus was a very wise man, who spoke of kindness and peace, so I guess that makes me a Christian too. But I'm terribly saddened that ANY group who preach peace and tolerance could be so intolerant. Mind you, I don't think it is all Christians, just a few with big mouths and small minds.
Happy holidays, EVERYONE.

It is not the part about being offensive, it is leaving out the reason for the season.
It was not a day chosen for a "holiday" like labor day, it was chosen as a day to celebrate the birth of Christ, even thought it is not the correct date.
Happy Holidays just does not have the expressed sincerity as Merry Christmas.
The real question is Why dilute the greeting to a less meaningful enunciation?

As a christian I don't find it offensive whe people say Happy Holidays. I certainly appreciate diversity. However, it gets a little annoying when retailers or others who are just trying to be 'politically correct' REFUSE to say it. After all Christmas is truly celebrated by a majority of people in the US and most gift giving is done in the name of our savior Jesus Christ. So...Merry Christmas!

I just made this point, last year on Fox, O'reily said that he couldn't understand how people can be offended by two harmless words (referring to Merry Christmas) then he turned around and said he was offend by "Happy holidays" what a hypocrite.

i'm a Christian and that i'm in no way indignant. isn't part of being a Christian loving and accepting everyone from all walks of existence? many don't stay as much as this yet there's no would desire to start that talk... enable's no longer use the Christmas season to morecontinual human beings aside! it particularly is a time to celebrate! I additionally consider you that the word encompasses diverse holiday journeys; Thanksgiving during the recent year. Cheers!

Radical Republican Extremists are saying either you say merry Christmas or you have to die. No half way point. no partial happy holiday's by Jewish or muslim or other religion.
there is no middle ground. Personally, I would like to skip the whole thing all together but I am afraid if I did the Republicans would come down on me and put us in jail.
No holiday tree, someone brings in a dead evergreen and it has to be called a Christmas tree. How many people see that bringing in a dead tree and trimming it is just plain stupid.
It is the only time of year someone would let the dead leaves of a tree in the living room by a fire. While they eat candy out of a sock. If that isn't dangerous enough they put lights on it.
May we all burn to death by a Christmas tree. See I didn't say holiday tree so no hate mail like last time.
I am not having one in my house and I don't care what you call it.
To me it is a dead tree you chopped down.

I am a Christian & am not affended with 'happy holidays'.
But some antichrists are demanding separating the Christ out of Christmas. That is offensive. Because it is against my rights. Christmas is even on our calendars.
To me, Xmas is fine too. X is the first greek letter in the Greek for Christ. So during persecution X was symbolic of Christ.

Well, it's the idea that this season revolves around Christmas. It's a simple fact that majority of the country celebrates Christmas in some form. The original reason why this season matters, at least for this country, is Christmas. Therefore, why should they deny the true origin of these seasonal feelings?
In my personal opinion, who cares if you say Merry Christmas? It's just a seasonal greeting. It shouldn't be offensive.
