Should have had more fights

Dempsey - W 65 (KO's 50) TF 82 - W pct 80% - KO pct 61% - wins over Williard, Firpo and Sharkey - KO'ed by Fireman JIm Flynn - #7 ranked puncher - #16 ranked fighter
He later became a referee

This bout is a war. 2 tough fighters and good punchers. This fight could be a bloody mess. This fight is a toss up and it doesn't go the distance. I have no idea who will win.

I'd have to go with Joe. I don't want to give this in depth point of view as far as how the fight would go down. Really just to say the sport and althetes evolve in time. People say the heavyweight division is weak? Whatever, Bob Fitzsimmons could never be champ today. Jack Johnson beat a midget basically in heavyweight terms. Jess Willard "won" a fight that was supposed to be thrown. Dempsey beats him... and it's like, so what? Dempsey went for years with no defenses, why? I'll never know. Let's put it this way, in the days of Liston, Ali, Frazier, Norton, Foreman, Holmes, etc. Dempsey would have only been a pretender contender, at least at heavyweight. Dempsey was tough for HIS time, but if you look at nearly ANY sport then compared to now days, It is much tougher now.

DEMPSEY WAS A HARD HITTER BUT NOT IN HE FOREMAN CLASS SO A DURABLE FRAZIER WOULD HANDLE ooops sorry dempsey`s bast shots and a body attack would wear out dempsey and set him up for a 8th rd ko.dempsey would lose to holmes 11th rd tko and liston would starch dempsey as well 5th rd.

I'd take Smokin' Joe in a give and take fight from the opening bell to the ending bell. Frazier wins a 15 round unanimous decision.
