If the normal consistent hours you keep, keep you up until 2 or 3 in the morning then you shouldn't eat after 10:30 or 11:00 p.m. but if the underlying reason for the question is a weight issue, it's healthier to eat several 5 or 6 very small meals spaced at relatively even intervals ending 4 hours before you go to sleep, coupled with a minimum 1 straight hour, 3 times a week of any exercise that makes you sweat. Drink at least 3 glasses of water daily and before meals. You want to avoid things like caffeine and sugar or things high in fat and carbohydrates to correspond with the amount of calories you consume vs. how many you burn. Check out the Mayo Clinic online for a healthy daily meal plan, it's probably more than what you eat now but contains different foods we sometimes forget about. Think back to 1st grade, in gym class we did these exercises and the cafeteria served this type of food, it'll all come back to you and that's how we should try to eat...balanced meals. If you're not getting enough sleep or your sleeping too much you should check with your doctor it could be an indication of something more serious.

Well that depends. If your staying up till 2-3 in the morning you should be able to eat anything 3 HOURS before you go to bed. The reason she is probably mentioning this is because when a person eats their dinner it is actually unhealthy to go to bed straight after you eat. You need time for your food to digest. 3 hours is usually the recommended time to wait before going to bed at night.

But if your not eating after 6 and your up till 2-3 in the morning of course your going to get hungry. Ask your girlfriend why she doesnt want you to eat. There has to be a logical reason for it. If you do want something to eat, try eating a piece of fruit, a sandwich or something light 3 HOURS before going to bed. Its good on your digestive system and it wont do any harm at all.

I think she is right you need to eat three meals a day not much snacks no late night eating and walk a lot. This puts your metabolism in shape and people usually lose 40 to 60 lbs in a year.

Usually, an 'early', lite dinner is recommended as part of a healthy diet. If you don't go to sleep until 2am, you might try not eating three to four hours beforehand. If you do, try a fruit or veggie snack & drink water. Nothing sugary. All you'll do is store the calories as fat.

You can eat after six if you are hungry, but have something that does not have a lot of carbs in it so you don't still feel hungry at two in the morning.
