There's this I guy I really like, and he knows. He does like me, but as a friend, but here's the other thing. If he knows that I like him like him why is he still my friend? In the past when this has happened, the guys starts avoiding me and starts to hate me. Also, whenever I bring up the subject, he talks to me like it's no big deal and sometimes he even smiles a lot. What does this mean?

you have laid your cards on the table now it is all up to him. Dont push the issue with him cuz if he does like you, then you could very easily start pushing him away. Some of the best relationships in life come from those who are friends first. Give it time you never know what can happen. You have told him how you feel now if he says he just wants to be friend with you then start dating other people. Show him that you are not going to put your life on hold for him. well he probably does like u but doesnt want to tell u, give it a little time and see what happens, if nothing than u know thats the truth he likes u as a friend, start dating other guys if he likes u that will make him jealous.. your choice

That he believes two people can be friends w/o there being anything else. It's also probably an ego boost (we all like them) that you like him. Understand that he is just a friend and move on.

We won't stick around unless there is something to gain. What I'm basically saying is that maybe he wants to give it a chance and see where things will go. He might actually want to see if his friendly feelings develop into something more.

it means he just wants to stay friends or who knows, maybe he wants to get to know you better.
eaither way you know you picked the right one when he still your friend when you told him you really liked him and he wasnt freaked out or start to hate you (why would they do that?)
