My pomeranian will grab a kibble and run all the way across the kitchen into the carpeted dining room and eat it, and then repeat, a dozen times. Is linoleum hard on the nails or something? I know it's not just her either because our last one did the same thing as well as my sister's dog. It's funny to watch, but it's kind of confusing as to why they do it. Thanks for the help!!

I think it has to do not only with smaller breeds but also it they must think the carpet is like the outside ground.
I had a small terrier that did the same thing. I put a small throw rug under her food dish & she still did it.

Our dogs eat out of their bowls. If you don't want your dog to remove food from the bowl for consumption elsewhere, simply don't let him.

I have two that do the same thing. One of them will actually look at me while she is chewing it. i think they just want me to watch them eat. They beg from me and I think they want me to watch them.

Do you have two dogs? I do, and I think it's their way to keep that bite to themself.
