My dad pinches me on my side and spanks me w/a belt. it doesnt really hurt and im not complaining but isnt pinching and spanking for like little kids?

no not at all i still spank my 15 yo on his bare bottom. does ur dad make u pull down ur pants before he spanks u?

Yes, spankings are for little kids, my parents stopped spanking me when i was 10, now they just ground me from the computer or hanging out with friends when I get in trouble now. I have never heard of pinching on the side as a punishment before.

pinching is not a good punishment but the last spanking i got was at 14 with a belt your dad should try something different because it does cross the line of abuse.

I don't believe you are too old for spankings, however I don't think a belt should be used at any age. Spanking should be done just with the open hand. With the pinching and using a belt, in my opinion I think what your father is doing borders on abuse.

I don't agree with spanking at all...I was brought up by parents who believe in spanking and I only see how troubled I am. I see a very huge difference with kids being spanked and kids who weren't. Tell your father that he needs to stop that vicious cycle that many people were brought up with!

Uh, you're supposed to stop spanking before the kid's even two years old. You only use corporeal punishment on small children because they do not understand lengthy reason why they should or should not do somehting. You're old enough to get "a talkin' to". You ought to talk to a teacher or someone, or at least make sure you don't spank your own children.

Though I don't think the pinching is right, I believe that children should be spanked till they are 18. It would stop most of the problems we have with the children today...

First of all your father is not doing you any favours by spanking you with a belt. He should be talking to you and grounding you. Spanking is a barbaric way to discipline a child....

No. Noone should be hit. Try to tell your Mom/Stepdad that this humiliates and degrades you. If your stepdad is hurting you often and/or leaving marks, go to a teacher or school counselor you trust. I hope you are feeling better soon. If your parents will not reason with you, try to talk to someone else you trust.

Nah...spanking doesn't work for older kids. You said yourself that it doesn't hurt and that you're not complaining.
