I use white vinegar and HOT water... half/half. It seems to work.
Good luck.

One trick that sometimes works -- I've used it on glass flower vases too narrow to wash inside -- is to get some of the effervescent cleaner used for false teeth. Fill the glass with water and drop a tablet in.

Two ways i have had success by putting the dull glasses in the dishwasher and put in a 1/2 cup of clorax bleech. Then another way is to put in along with the diswasher detergent a bottle of Tang powder.

cleaning them in a dishwasher will dull any glass...no matter what sparkle additive you use. Wash them by hand in hot soapy water

Actually I would buy new ones. They do tend to get that ring around them don't they . Try not to put them in the dishwasher if you want to keep them sparkling. Or if you have a very good one use a jet-dry.

wash them by hand and rinse in vinegar water, or a capful of ammonia will make them sparkle.

I think that you should just drench them in cold or warm water and then later use newspaper to clean them. That is what i would do.
