No, divination or fortunetelling is not evil. Evil can only be determined in how you use the knowledge you obtain from divination or fortunetelling. Hope that helps :D

It is not evil. Why would it be? I think that the church people just made that up, because in the dark ages the church was loosing followers. I am skeptical of the results of fortunetelling adn divination though. But i dont' think the practice itself is evil in anyway.

For the God that I believe in, He did not say that it is a sin but if I believe in Divination and Fortune Telling and it became true, then it could be a form of Idolatry in my part and that is what He does not like because He is a jealous God and He does not want me to idolize other God. So, if I love my God and He said that, I will not do it. For me I will take it as a sin against Him.

I don't think its evil but I don't like the idea of some people knowing the future because (although it can be debated) it negates free will. Once you know the future you're doomed to fulfill it, and if you manage to change it then your initial prediction was wrong, thus making the whole process useless.
