It would seem to me that the first thing you need to do is find out why she has an ear ache, and whether there's an infection involved or not. If there's an infection then you need to get an antibiotic prescription for her, unless it has become near abscessed or not. And then, this time of year, she could just have sinus blockage that is getting painful, and she needs a different type of treatment. A lot of times when that was the case for me, I'd make me some hot tea with lemon and honey in it, and that helped, but then if she has a swelling that is reactive to heat, you wouldn't want to do that since it'd make the pain worse, so, the first thing I'd do is find out why she has this ear ache, and then when you ask your question here, let us know. God Bless you.

First of all, you won't catch an earache from your mom. A remedy that ALWAYS worked for me was to pour a bit of warm Sweet Oil in the ear canal and cap with a cotton ball. Sweet Oil can be found a most pharmacies or you can substitute olive oil..its generally the same stuff. Applying heat outside the ear works well too, have her try lying on a heating pad set on low.

Use the ear drops they're for soreness additionally. between the main suitable issues my grandmom used to do for undesirable ear aches is positioned a bite of cotton in each and each ear. That way the air/wind/chilly air won't disturb the ear drum the place the ear an infection is. attempt it! it works!

You can't catch an ear infection. You get it because you have so much congestion that it backs up into your ear canal. There isn't much you can do but take Tylenol. You don't need antibiotics. Wait two days and if it isn't better then you might consider them. There are products (eardrops) you can get that have anelgesics in them (numbing agents) and they might help somewhat.

I don't agree with putting anything in your ear including cotton as it just makes the bacteria build up in your ear making it worse. Unless of course you just do it temporarily for a few minutes or so, but don't leave it in all night.

Some say that blowing your nose is bad and to do it gently because if you are really flemmy blowing hard can actually push the mucus into your ear canal. So keep that in mind too.

this is going to sound weird but sew a bag about 3 inches by 3 inches and fill it with rice(any rice will do but I prefer aromatic rice)when you are done sewing it all together stick it in the microwave for2 minutes and test for heat before placing on ear it works wonders.
