Take a Vitamin E capsule and open it up and rub it on the scars, this is one of the better ways to quickly heal scars. Second of all she needs to go see a therapist.

There is really no way to rid yourself of scars. Once they are there they are there. To me that is something that a person has to live with for the rest of their lives. I have my own scars and I think that they are ugly but I live with them as a reminder and to learn humility. Just like any other bad decision that a person makes it stays with you. Those are the consequences. There are consequences to everything that you do. Whether they are good or bad. You should let her know that maybe she should look at her consequences before she does something. And it could be a good thing because if it really is something that she regrets then she will have those scars to say hey, look at what is gonna happen next time.

There are lots of scar-healing lotions out there, try a drugstore.
In the meantime, she could try bracelets, a wristband. I once had an awful scar that I covered with nail polish, but that's a bit more complicated. She could try make up...a little concealer, something like that.

i have scars on my arms...

i don't cover them up anymore... long sleeves was the only real way to do it and i live in Florida.....

if a person cuts once they are very very likely to do it again...

she needs to see a therapist.....

good luck to your friend!

have her try mederma or some other scar reducing treatment....

i believe also that the drug topomax ( a mood stabilizer) has the side effect of lessening the appearance of self injury scars....

Try any scar treatment, I used one from Neosprin, they are strips you put on. They really worked...

This girl should def. get some kind of treatment, because cutting yourself is not healthy at all. All I can say is good thing she regrets it.

depending on where she did it, she could wear a watch or a wrist band. um if that doesn't work they make an ointment to help the scar not show as bad.

There are special foundations that can hide deep scars.
Be aware that she is most likely going to cut herself again. Cutting is a hard "habit" to break, and she should seek professional help.

cutting is symptom of deeper underlying problems.Your friend needs to address these things and get past them and lay them to rest. As for the scars... only time can tell....

cut off her arms. That will prevent any future desire to cut her arms. Then she can learn to use her feet for lots of cool things.
she will be far to busy to even think of cutting herself again.
