This is probably more of a realistic answer then the guesswork previously listed. At the end of your spinal column is your tailbone otherwise known as your coccyx, and it is actually not uncommon to snap the end of it by bending over or stretching the wrong way. It is extremely painful to break and takes weeks if not months to heal. Sometimes it even requires surgery. The best thing I can suggest is to avoid sitting as much as possible and if necessary use an inflatable donut, available at most pharmacies. Lay on your stomach or side while watching TV and sleeping and use Tylenol or anti-inflammatories for pain. See your Physician for a confirmation of this diagnosis, but I would bet based on your description, that you have a fracture or a break of your tailbone. My best friend is a Spinal surgeon.

There is yet another possibility. A cyst is growing and pressing on a nerve. Still need to get an X-ray.

Perhaps because you are in err about an injury, but better to go to a medical professional . . . they could give you a real evaluation, here it would just be guessing.

You may have a bone spur. I have them on my heels and they are very painful. Your Dr. will have to x-ray you to see if that is the problem.
