I talked to this guy on Friday but Saturday and Sunday I called his cell just to get voicemail. I left messages but he doesn't call back until hours later. I am starting to suspect this guy is lying about being married. Is there anyway I can find out. I looked up 411 his # is unpublished. He lives in a different state but only a 1 30 mn drive from where I live. I would not go to his house though. We just started talking on Friday. He answerd my ad on a dating site.

First of all I am not rushing. He called me I tried calling him back and I get voicemail. He calls me back just to tell me he is going to call back later. Seems fishy to me

I am a Paralegal too

Public records are hello public period. If it was illegal it would not be accessible to us! Idiot!

Read the question to it's fullest before answering it. I wrote he calls me back, I return his call to get voicemail and excuses. I am not making an assumption, I am going on my observations. Thanks to the first person who answered. So far you have given the best answer. Come on Morons don't answer if you cannot read!

Please listen to your first instincts! From experience I can tell you............if it seems like something's up, it probably is! I don't know where you live but where I live you can go to the county website and search the marriage license's. But they only list those marriages that occurred in the county in which I live. Since there is a whole world out there and you don't really know this guy you wouldn't really know where to search but I would begin with the county that he lives is. Otherwise, just keep an eye out for more instances that raise a red flag.

Are you that involved already? or Are you just "desperate". Maybe the reason your using a "dating service" is that you "come on" too "strong" and you scare the "guys" off!. Slow down, give the guy a chance, maybe he was dating someone else before he met you and he is kind enough to "end" that one first, before getting "deeply" involved with you. My goodness, you sound very "possessive", you should work on that! Going into someones Identity is an Illegal Act! You have no reason to "invade his privacy"! If he finds out, he could sue you...

These are the signs to find out if this guy is married or not. Pick a day to see him if he Say's that he has to work, then ask him when he is free. Take a friend with you, But don't let him see her just for protection in case the guy is crazy or something. Or just ask him if you can come to his place for lunch and take a girlfriend with you or a guy friend. But if you take a guy make sure the guy can fight. If you have a gay guy friend take him. Because their is one thing a guy can't stand is a girl who hangs out with a gay guy. Because he might just kick the guy you are going to see a** and turn broke back mouton on him too.

well, an ex-girlfriend of mine, who I was pretty good friends with before we dated, somehow got access to the state supreme court database to do background checks on her potential suitors...I think it was because she worked at a human resources department for an insurance company.

Anyway, the database had records of every legal run-in that guy has had since he turned 18. Arrests, restraining orders, lawsuits, marriage licences, divorces...anything that had to go through the court system.

I don't know if the general public has access to that kind of stuff, especially since 9/11, but do some research into public records. Marriage licenses shouldn't really be classified information.

Lots of luck!
