With fifty million $ in the bank, a herd of prime Charolais cows in two thousand acres of upstate New York, a mansion in England, and a whole floor of a luxury apartment block in New York City, then yup, John me old mate, I'd have the time and leisure to be able to "imagine no possessions".

Not sure if you could, though....

(Irony :it all reverts to the greedy talons of a rapacious, pretentious and talentless witch called Yoko who is doing her absolute utmost to make sure all the cash and goodies stay in Japanese hands and Lennon's first family in England get nowt. I bet the poor bugger is turning in his grave, wherever she buried him: she's made very sure his surviving English relatives and oldest son know nothing of this. John, it might have been better if you really did have no possessions -- or wrote a fairer will...)

if it was possible that would make a better world. but unfortunately the world isnt that way and cant be but if it was everything would be better. people would still fight and argue, thats human nature but with the guidelines he wrote in that song the world would be in general a nicer place.

If you're talking about the religious aspect of the song, then yes. Without religion the world would be a better place, free of war and suffering.

Why should we imagine there's no heaven? I loved very much this song until I realized from the first verse what it is really about.

If a truck is about to hit you, will it go away because you "imagine" it's not there? Better to face the reality of God and eternity, than to try to imagine it away.

Yes, why not. Lets all live our lives according to one of the most over rated dirges ever to be written. I know someone who wanted it at their funeral but decided it would depress even him
