Negative credit information can legally stay on your report for 7 years. Bankruptcies can be reported for 10 years. The creditor can remove their account from your report. Once you have paid, they don't have much incentive to do so.

It can't be deleted, it will show as paid in full. If you don't use the account for about 7 to 10 years, then it will be taken off from your credit report.

Contact the reporting credit bureau such as Transunion, Equifax, or Experian. They have 30 days to remove erroneous accounts.
