No, I read it was the widow of the man who founded Walmart. She and their four children are 5 of the top 10 on the Forbes list of the richest people in the world (beat out by Bill Gates and Warren Buffet, of course). I read this about a year or two ago, but I'm sure they are still way up there.
Apparently the Walton family has suffered a reversal of fortune - they have dropped down to #17 through #21 on the rich list. Three of them are female. But #15 on the list is an 83 year old French woman, Liliane Bettencourt, who inherited her money from L'Oreal. So she is the richest woman in the world, followed by the Walmart inheritors, followed by an American woman in spot #28. Oprah is tied for number 562 on the list.
